Learn to ride an Elephant

Have you ever dreamed to learn how to ride an elephant?

Well, now you can!

Kingfisher Ecolodge and the villagers of Ban Khiet Ngong organize the first Elephant Riders School in Laos, open to everybody from 12 years old up.

The minimum lenght of the training course is four hours in one day (2 hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon). In the first two hours you will learn the basics controls and, if the trainer will consider your skills appropriate, in the afternoon you will lead the elephant up to Phou Asa.

For more information about our Asian Elephant Tourism Policy please read here and for a short Asian Elephant fact-sheet by WWF here.

At the end of the training course you will receive our official certificate for Elephant Rider.

NOTE: You must be also ready to step down and climb up the elephant without the help of a ladder while far from the elephant center.
No particular skills are needed to do this activity but you should consider that, due to the above mentioned conditions, it requires a minimum of physical effort and adaptation.
